For immediate release:
Please join Frost River as they begin a new, expanding era of business.
When you make rugged, reliable canoe packs in Duluth and need to expand to a new bigger building what’s the most appropriate way to haul the last load? Well, a portage of course! The Frost River Trading Co. has arrived in Duluth’s Lincoln Park. We will be hauling the last load on our backs from our old shop to our new home.
It’s going to be a 400 rod portage from our industrial building on the shore of St. Louis Bay near South 27th avenue West to the new Frost River workshop and trading post at 1910 West Superior Street. We plan to leave at 10 am Wednesday June 29th and hope to arrive at our new retail and manufacturing space around 11 am.
Please feel free to rendezvous with the portage crew along the route of west Superior Street. We’ll be the people wearing big brown waxed canvas canoe packs, carrying a red canoe, accompanied by our Caribou mascot. You can also meet us at our new showroom, and get a tour of our new facility at the former Minnesota Surplus building.
Frost River has added four new employees in the last month and has recently been consigned to produce a new line of packs and bags jointly with the Woolrich Company. We ship our handmade items across the country and around the world to a growing list of wholesalers and online customers. We look forward to making it easier for customers who live in and visit Duluth to find us at our new retail space in Lincoln Park. Let’s celebrate the beginning of a new era for a successful, expanding, local business in Duluth. Please join us along the portage path of West Superior Street and follow us to our new home.
